Just a few kilometres from the Venetian Lagoon, deep in the tranquil countryside of the Veneto region, there is one of the most valuable Renaissance architectural treasures in northern Italy, Castle Roncade, a distinctive pre-Palladian villa surrounded by mediaeval walls.
Since the early 20th century, the castle has been owned by the Ciani Bassetti barons, a family originally from Trento with a rich farming heritage. It was Baron Tito Ciani Bassetti who in 1930 realised a dream by turning this estate into a vineyard, in an area where vines have been grown for centuries.
The family-run winery which surrounds the castle, run by Vincenzo Ciani Bassetti and his son Claudio, is open for wine tastings with guided tours of the indoor and outdoor spaces, such as the barrel store and the villa’s entrance hall.
The experience is rounded off in the wine shop, where you can pick up some of the local produce to take home with you, or you can stay in one of the rooms in the towers or the main villa, enjoying the warm hospitality of the Ciani Bassetti family.
There are numerous areas which are ideal for hosting small and medium-sized incentive meetings.
