Nestling in the heart of the Dolomites, dominating the valley around Belluno, the remarkable Villa di Modolo is one of the 15 great villas of Belluno, part of the list of 100 Venetian Villas drawn up by sculptor Antonio Canova.
This is more than enough for Villa di Modolo to be considered a one-of-a-kind Venetian villa. But there is more: the house was built in the 17th century by the Miari family, originally from Vicenza, a dynasty which included many canons, knights, judges, jurists, notaries, historians and engineers.
Today the Villa, its outbuildings and the surrounding countryside continue to thrive thanks to the work of the current generations: Francesco Miari Fulcis, along with his wife Nicoletta and their four children, decided to open up the house and the business to tourism, tours, events, catering and agricultural research.
As a result, Villa di Modolo, with its beautifully decorated rooms, the family chapel dedicated to San Lorenzo, the porticoed Barchessa and the wine cellars, stables, and extensive grounds, have become an ideal venue for weddings, business events and timeless photo shoots.
